Bio

Michelle Ferretti, LCSW, OSW-C, Oncology Clinical Therapist with Inova Life with Cancer, coordinates the Integrative Psychosocial Oncology Program (IPOP), a four-program curriculum, designed to build emotional coping skills and resilience from cognitive, mindfulness-based, and contemplative perspectives. She facilitates three of the four programs that comprise the IPOP curriculum, trains IPOP facilitators, provides outpatient counseling, and co-created a multidisciplinary program addressing cancer-related cognitive impairment, discussing the roles mind-body interventions and lifestyle choices play in supporting brain function and overall well-being.


Michelle earned her B.A. in Psychology from UC Berkeley and her Master of Social Work from Catholic University’s National Catholic School of Social Service, and has completed the University of Michigan’s Integrative Oncology Scholars program. Michelle has a passion for mind-body work, and prior to her career in social work Michelle was a professional ballet dancer and trained in clinical qigong and massage therapy, including neuromuscular therapy.
